I have done several murals, starting when I was in college. I painted murals on the Dorm walls! Of course, they were not permanent. These days, I do murals in your home or office. I will create your mural in the style of my paintings so be sure to look there first to see what you're interested in. I can do several preliminary sketches, as you see here. Once the job is done, the sketches are yours!
Prices for murals will vary. See the details below.

How Does It Work?
After meeting to discuss what you want, and after seeing the space, I will create 3 drawings for you to choose from, based on your preferences.
On approval, these will become the blueprints for the mural. If there are minor changes to be made to the overall design, that is when they will be made. You may have 2 additional design changes at this point that you can make without additional cost.
There is a charge for the drawings. First, so you know those are yours and won't be given to any other potential clients, and second, so I know you won't take them elsewhere to another artist. That payment must be made before drawing begins and it gets the process moving.
I bring a copy of the final drawings with me to paint from, and when your mural is complete, the originals of the drawings become yours to keep.
Depending on the size of the mural and the complexity of the design, you can expect a mural to realistically take several weeks. I work full time on it Monday - Friday, 9-4. Sometimes the best light is from 3-6 pm, so we'll talk about when I will be there and for how long. Basically, I work til it's done and it's not done until it's signed!
Distractions, such as workmen, construction, children, pets, parties, loud noises such as generators, etc, all distract from painting and could add time to the process.
Mural Costs:
Murals cost will be determined by a number of factors:
* Size of the space. Size is calculated by square footage; width x height.
* Complexity of the design. A copy of the Last Supper will cost more than a tropical sunset. [I would not suggest a Da Vinci Fresco but you get the idea] This is an subjective calculation based on my experience with how long it will take combined with how difficult the design is to accomplish. So, a mural that is a simple design on a wall with no distractions such as windows, panelling, thermostats, slanted walls or closets might be $20/square foot. That Leonardo Da Vinci? That might be $50/square ft.
*Other considerations that effect cost can be whether scaffolding or equipment needs to be rented or if the walls have not been made ready for paint. I do not repair or prepare walls and that will have to be done before painting begins.
*If your walls were finished with latex or oil based paints. Oil based walls require priming and sometimes sanding before they can be transformed. I would suggest that you take care of finishing your walls with latex paint and no varnishes before murals are begun.
